Energy Focus: Autonomous plasmonic solar water splitter displays long-term stability

The article discusses M. Moskovits and a team of researchers from the University of California-Santa Barbara, which shows that autonomous plasmonic solar water splitter displays long-term stability. It states that the device is composed of a uniform array of aligned gold (Au) nanorods serving as light-harvesting antennae with crystalline TiO2. It adds that the plamons excited on the AU surface produce electron-hole pairs after decaying on a femtosecond time scale.
