ABSTRACT
I WAS sorry to read that the Dambusters won't get an official fly-past (Mail). I was posted to RAF Scampton in 1942 and was attached to the armoury for three years, counting bombs, detonators, etc, every day, instead of money (I had been trained as a shorthand typist/bookkeeper). We were thrilled to have No 617 Squadron posted to Scampton, but very sad indeed to lose half the aircrew.
