ABSTRACT
HER relationship with Russell Brand was slightly at odds with the beliefs of her strict pastor parents Keith and Mary Hudson, mainly due to his bad boy reputation. And Katy Perry has now revealed that her mother is so relieved about her divorce that she praises the Lord each day. Katy, who was married to the British comedian for just 14 months, said: 'My mom thanks God every day for my divorce.' Opening up about her strict upbringing she revealed the things that she thanks God for, which unlike her mother, aren't to do with her marriage break-up. She said: 'I thank God every day for having made us all the same way and I pray for anyone who fights for freedom of speech. I'm pro-gay marriage and want equality between genders.' The Fireworks singer said that non-religious music was banned in her home as a teenager and 'Madonna, my idol, was considered worse than the devil'.
