ABSTRACT
÷ WHERE there's a will there's a war! Poor Glen Campbell is nearing the end of his 'Wichita' line and already there's a family battle over the music legend's $50million fortune. I adored his music when I was growing up and I fell totally in love with him when he starred with John Wayne in True Grit. My Dad was always told he looked like John Wayne and he would take us out of school for a half-day when one of the Duke's films hit cinemas. Glen is now 77 and sadly in the grip of Alzheimer's. His fourth and current wife, Kim, plus her three children are locking horns with five other offspring from previous marriages. The ailing star's eldest daughter Debbie is writing a tell-all book called Burning Bridges, due in October, that's to detail his drug and alcohol abuse, as well as secrets from his marriages. Although Glen's memory is deteriorating, he's releasing a final album in August. Whatever dirty linen his daughter washes in public, I'm one of millions of fans who will remember him as a super performer and songwriter. It's a shame his family must mar that legacy in pursuit of book sales and dollars.
