Price pressures are the lowest in more than 3 years, but deflation is not a serious near-term threat, said Philly Fed Pres. Charles Plosser, who isn't on the Fed's policy panel this year. If inflation expectations fall, action might be needed to return them to the Fed's 2% target. But expectations remain "well anchored," seeing inflation picking up in a year or two. Plosser also called for fewer Fed bond buys starting as soon as the next policy meeting.
