ABSTRACT
The article discusses the impact that race can have on the incidence of hypoglycemia in the case of hospitalized older adults with type 2 diabetes. A study was conducted to determine the impact of race on the incidence of hypoglycemic events in hospitalized older adults with type 2 diabetes and to find out which clinical factors explain the differential risk. It concluded that the risk of hypoglycemic events among hospitalized patients was greatest for African-American men.
