ABSTRACT
As an actor, Alec Guinness has a very ethereal presence. This article looks at some of Guinness' best-known roles and tries to discover the man beneath them. Guinness' films include: `Oliver Twist,' `Kind Hearts and Coronets,' `The Bridge on the River Kwai,' `The Horse's Mouth'; television role in `Smiley's People.'
