ABSTRACT
During the last decade, data mining algorithms gave cutting-edge results in many application areas. The success of application of these algorithms and the growing research interest in different aspects of education, led to formation of a new area of research: educational data mining (EDM). EDM tries to discover knowledge from the data from traditional as well as technology enhanced learning environments and to enhance learning process from different aspects. In this research, artificial neural networks are evaluated in order to solve the problem of predicting student's success (average grade). Application of this model should help professors to identify at early stage the students they can cooperate with, as well as students, who can estimate on time whether they should put greater effort in order to achieve a desired result.
