ABSTRACT
The article discusses the resurgence of charitable gift annuities (CGA) as of January 2013. The national office of non-profit health agency Easter Seals in Chicago, Illinois reports that CGAs rose by 20% in 2012 due to low interest rates. Lindsay Lapole of the charitable organization Salvation Army discourages the comparison of CGAs to other investments such as certificates of deposit (CDs) because she said they should be treated as gifts to support the mission of an organization.
