ABSTRACT
The article discusses the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors' proposed code for internal auditors to develop how the financial services industry in Great Britain deals with risk and internal controls management. The new code, Effective Internal Audit in the Financial Services Sector, seeks to prevent problems that will affect public funds and protect the financial sector's credibility through an improved internal audit. The scope of the internal audit is outlined.
