ABSTRACT
The article discusses problems of late payment in business transactions in the European Union (EU) and describes the impact created by such problems on the growth of national and regional markets. It informs about EU directive 2011/7 that was created to combat late payments in commercial transactions and reflects on the shortcomings of this directive. It analyzes differences between EU directive 2011/7 and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
