ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the use of indigo as coloring agent in the quilting industry in Europe. It informs that indigo was transported to Europe from India in 15th and 16th century and is the only natural source of blue color. It further informs that the indigo textiles were being produced for home furnishings and clothing throughout the European continent and England.
