The article presents information on the development of an updated version of the Vertical Expandable Prosthetic Titanium Rib (VEPTR), a device akin to a curtain rod with two moving parts that works like a fracture pin but is easily implantable and expandable. It informs that VEPTR II features additional components such as rib hooks, transverse bars, an S rod and a proximal extension for helping the need of physicians.
