ABSTRACT
This article analyzes the importance of dairy farmers' abilities for a entrepreneurial activity. The aim of the research is to assess the dairy farmers' abilities as a factor influencing internal entrepreneurship. In this study abilities are understood as farmers' skills to identify and use coming opportunities within a specific context. The empirical study, where 335 dairy farms were surveyed, has showed more important results after the factor and cluster analysis methods were applied. It was identified that the farmers distinguished of a higher-capacity cluster are owners of larger farms, better educated, more analyzing their chances, looking for new information and more usual trying innovations, having a much larger acquaintanceship network, more open than the farmers of a lowercapacity cluster. The interface between farmers' characteristics and attitudes create preconditions for the selection of motivation measures and entrepreneurship activation.
