SHANE Long has revealed he played through the pain-barrier against Austria on Tuesday night and that Giovanni Trapattoni was right to take him off in the second half. In a move that drew widespread criticsm, the striker was replaced by Paul Green in the 83rd minute. But he has now insisted he was suffering with a back injury which he picked up in the warm up.
