ABSTRACT
QIs it true that the Government's bank deposit guarantee will no longer apply after the end of this month? I've been told that anything above €100,000 will no longer be covered. If that is the case, can I take the excess over €100,000 and open another account in the same bank and still be covered? Would it be better to take the excess to another bank and deposit it there as long as the amount is less than the guarantee of €100,000? ¦ ATHERE is to be no change in the deposit guarantee scheme that covers up to €100,000 per individual, per institution. That guarantee continues and is to remain indefinitely.
