ABSTRACT
When someone says they are sorry and will mend their ways, how do you know if they are telling the truth? Researchers at the nonprofit Mind Research Network in N.M. have found that brain activity in the anterior cingulate cortex can indicate if a prisoner will be a repeat offender. Men with lower activity in the anterior cortex were 2.6 times more likely to be arrested for violent crimes.
