Medical Device Testing's Requirement for Axial-Torsion Loading Regimes

In this article, the author discusses axial-torsion testing system used to verify the safety and efficacy of the medical devices. He discusses the testing standards developed by the organization American Society for Testing and Materials and International Organization for Standardization defining the appropriate way to test particular medical devices. The performance requirements for medical bone screws outlined by the annexes A1 thru A4 of the testing standard ASTM F543 are also discussed. INSET: What is an Axial-Torsion Testing Machine?.
