ABSTRACT
The article discusses whether 6% tetrastarch which is used to maintain volume expansion 130 kDa (hydroxyethyl starch130/0.4 or 130/0.42) is suitable for patients with severe sepsis or not. It mentions the two aspects of the study in which one shows the case with 6% tetrastarch 130 kDa in severe sepsis and another against it. It also concludes that the efficacy of 6% tetrastarch 130 kDa cannot be demonstrated when it is being used for volume resuscitation in patients with severe sepsis.
