ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study which reviewed the metaphorical ways in which patients speak of their condition within the sphere of palliative care. The results revealed that metaphoric communication helps in dealing with sensitive subjects and also provides patients benefits. The study also highlighted that engaging with patients at the metaphoric level provided new ways of viewing their situation and explored new coping strategies.
