ABSTRACT
POINTING to a satellite map on my computer screen, then zooming in on the red dot, I turn to my partner Diana and blurt: 'Look, he's at that woman's house over the road again! Number 63! I'm going round to get him!' 'Hang on, he's on the move!' says Diana, as the red blip dances across the screen. 'He's coming home!' Sure enough, moments later, our cat-flap rattles and Harry, our beloved moggy, noses his way into our kitchen, unaware that, via satellite technology, we have been tracking his every move. 'I knew it!' I cry, scooping him up in my arms and burying my nose in his fur. 'He smells of smoke and perfume! He's been with her again!' I might sound like a slightly deranged obsessive keeping tabs on an adulterous partner. But instead, I am one of a growing number of securityconscious pet owners tracking their cats' secret lives via a GPS device attached to a satnav collar.
