ABSTRACT
THE SFA have averted a messy and protracted court battle with Craig Levein by reaching a compensation settlement with the sacked Scotland boss. The governing body relieved Levein of his duties in November following a dismal start to Scotland's World Cup qualification campaign. In a quest to avoid shelling out a £700,000 lump sum, however, they agreed to continue paying the 48-year-old his salary on a monthly basis prior to a full and final severance if he found a new job.
