ABSTRACT
HOME favourite Gary Anderson was last night downed 7-5 by Wes Newton in their Premier League clash at Glasgow's SECC, while countryman Robert Thornton enjoyed a 7-1 demolition of Aussie Simon Whitlock. In the evening's main event, Phil Taylor joined Raymond van Barneveld on 10 league points after a 7-3 victory over his old rival — but only after one spectator appeared to spit on him as he walked to the stage.
