ABSTRACT
OSCAR PISTORIUS could compete at the World Athletics Championships in August despite being accused of murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. A South African court yesterday partially lifted the travel restrictions of Pistorius' bail terms, allowing the 26-year-old athlete to compete abroad to 'earn an income'. Pistorius' agent, Peet van Zyl, said: 'The World Championships will definitely be on the radar, if he is up for it and qualifies'. The International Association of Athletics Federations said Pistorius would be 'free to run' in Moscow because he is 'innocent until proven guilty'. The double amputee, who denies murdering Miss Steenkamp at his home on Valentine's Day, is due in court again on June 4. But Pistorius' uncle, Arnold, last night told Sky News: 'Oscar's got no intention to travel overseas now. He needs his family.'
