ABSTRACT
¦ THE bosses of the 'bad banks' carved out of state-backed Northern Rock and Bradford & Bingley received inflation busting pay rises last year. The news was sneaked out last night by UK Asset Resolution. Chief executive Richard Banks was awarded a £642,820 package, up 7.7pc. Finance chief Phillip McLelland received £445,788, up 14.9pc. The huge taxpayerfunded hikes come despite a 1pc cap for pay rises across the public sector.
