ABSTRACT
IT WAS intriguing to watch Shamrock Rovers last weekend in the Dublin derby against Shelbourne. Trevor Croly's team held onto the ball for long spells, but they lacked penetration. This was surprising because of all the options they have available to them in attack — they are the envy of most clubs. Balance, though, is an integral part of all good teams and this is especially true up front. The modern trend to play with one striker means that supporting players must manage to dovetail with the frontman, which never happened in Tolka Park.
