ABSTRACT
British GDP fell 0.3% in Q4, the Office for Nat'l Statistics confirmed, on a sharp drop in industrial production and exports. Separate data showed that the current account deficit rose to 14.04 bil pounds ($21.3 bil) in Q4, the worst since 1989. The reports dim gov't hopes that Britain will avoid a Q1 contraction and its 3rd recession in 5 years.
