ABSTRACT
Radar helps airplanes navigate safely, and a compact version may soon help find people lost in snow storms and the like. Fraunhofer researchers next month will unveil a prototype compact radar device that transmits signals at frequencies that will let users ID small objects through wood, plastic and other materials about 2 miles away, even in difficult environmental conditions.
