ABSTRACT
The article reports on the physician payment disclosure rule Sunshine issued by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on February 1, 2013. The rule was enacted in pursuant to the U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. It tells that the new rule aims to create a system for tracking the financial relationship between drug and device makers, and physicians. It further states that the rule challenges the operations of biomedical research in the country.
