Church-founded school goes public in Memphis

The article discusses the operation of faith-based school Cornerstone Preparatory School at United Methodist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. It notes that the school will tucked its neighborhood Lester School which 28% of its student body were suspended in 2011 with 8% were proficient in mathematics. Cornerstone's executive director Drew Sippel told Lester's teachers that they are interested for their application to the school. It mentions that Cornerstone will operate as a state public school.
