ABSTRACT
ANDY MURRAY has revealed that the relentless strain of performing at the highest level has taken a huge toll on his physical condition and forced him to rethink his approach to the game. The world No 3, who won the first grand slam of his career at the US Open last year, is still only 25, but admits he is already having to manage his training programme carefully and cut down on the number of tournaments he enters to prolong his time at the top. 'You have to be so careful nowadays with the amount of travel we do and how hard some of the matches are,' said Murray. 'You can get run down and end up missing two or three months of the year because of an illness.
