ABSTRACT
KIDS WITH TOURETTE'S: IN THEIR OWN WORDS, 9PM, ITV TOURETTE'S is believed to affect one in 100 children — mostly boys. It's a shocking statistic, particularly as no one knows why it strikes, and there is no cure. This documentary follows three boys (Callum, Connor and Marco, pictured) over a period of six months as they undergo a pioneering treatment programme at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital. The boys and their families talk about their experiences in their own words, and explain how they have learned to cope with this distressing and misunderstood condition. Connor is 12, and fears his involuntary swearing and shouting will get him beaten up — as do his parents. Your heart will break for them.
