2 The Case-Shiller 20-city price index rose 8.1% annually in Jan., the most in 6-1/2 years, though it is due in part to falling inventory. Home prices rose 1% from the prior month, led by Las Vegas, Phoenix and Atlanta. Feb. new-home sales fell 4.6% to an annualized 411,000 after Jan.'s spike to a multiyear high. The median price rose 3%, and the number of new homes for sale ticked up to 152,000, the most since Dec. '11.
