ABSTRACT
The article discusses investigations by an Operation Guardians inspection team, Department of Justice, Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse, into the affairs of skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) in California. It mentions that the team conducted thorough inspection of facilities amidst allegations that those responsible for providing care to the elderly are failing to meet basic standard of care. Facilities which fail to meet these standards are facing severe civil and criminal consequences.
