IOL scaffolding technique helps prevent nucleus drop

The article discusses the ability of the intraocular lens (IOL) scaffolding technique to prevent nucleus drop without extending the corneal incision. According to the authors, the technique keeps the wound clear corneal. The authors note that the technique is ideal for posterior capsular rupture with non-emulsified moderate to soft nucleus during phacoemulsification. They add that converting phacoemulsification into extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE) is ideal for hard cataracts.
