The article highlights a 2013 report from ABI Research suggesting that the linking of the Wireless Gigabit (WiGig) Alliance with the Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) alliance will hasten the adoption of 60 Gigahertz (GHz) technologies in broadband wireless network across the world. The ABI report also foresees that ultra-book devices and media tablets will be the first markets to embrace 60 GHz solutions because of their need for high-speed data transfer for docking and display applications.
