ABSTRACT
This study examined the relationship between public-private partnership in the provision of Information Communication Technology (ICT) resources and academic library services in the South East geo-political zone Nigeria. Seventeen (17) academic institutions (made up of nine universities and eight polytechnics) were surveyed. The population comprises 227 librarians in the 17 academic institutions under studied. A set of questionnaire was used to elucidate responses, while the data gathered were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation(PPMC) and tested at 0.05 alpha level of significant. The result shows that there is a positive significant relationship (r critical = 0.195 is < the r calculated =326) between public -private partnership provision of personal computers /computer services, library Internet access, local/ area network connectivity and academic library services. Suggestions were made for the management of academic libraries in the South-East, Nigeria to intensify efforts at collaboration with the public -private sectors, as this would enhance information flow, storage and dissemination.
