ABSTRACT
The article reports that the expansion of digital preservation field encouraged research activity which led to the creation of the Preservation Metadata: Implementation Strategies (PREMIS) working group and comprehensive reference model for designing an Open Archival Information System (OAIS). Strategies for software preservation framework which include emulation, technical preservation and procrastination, are also presented.
