ABSTRACT
The paper focuses in its main aim on seeking yet undetected or undefined trends in development of number of the public administration employees in the Trenčín region in the context of the global economic downturn and it consists of two separate parts. The first part presents a basic survey of developing trends in average number of the public administration employees in the Trenčín region in comparison to development in average employees number in other economic sectors of the Trenčín region yearly statistically recorded during the period of previous decade. The second part of the paper concentrates on the basis of applying the regression analysis method in the period between years 2001 and 2011 on the processes focused on detection of expected mutual correlation between the trends in development of number of the public administration employees and the trends in development of the gross domestic product rate in general, i.e. in relation to the whole territory of the Trenčín region, as well as partially, i.e. from the view of individual districts of the Trenčín region.
