ABSTRACT
We report on atmospheric pressure growth of Cu-doped Tin oxide nanowires by thermal evaporation method. Scanning-electron-microscopic analysis shows the growth of wire-like SnO2 nanostructures (diameter ≈ 80 nm and length ≈ 70 μm) on gold catalyzed silicon substrate. The as-synthesized Cu-doped SnO2 nanowires show polycrystalline nature with tetragonal rutile structure. EDX analysis confirms that Cu (≈ 0.7 at%) have been uniformly doped into SnO2 nanowires. Electrical measurement of Cu-doped SnO2 nanowires concludes their resistance of about 5 MΩ at room temperature.
