ABSTRACT
In this article, the author focuses on the risks associated with working in an environment exposed to crystalline silica, and suggests for preventive measures by the industries instead of waiting for any standard from the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). According to the author, exposure to high levels of crystalline silica causes acute or accelerated forms of silicosis. The author also suggests using water, vacuum, and respirator at work places.
