ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the trend for the creation of gender cakes in a consumer-driven baby industry. It says that ultrasound technicians ask expectant parents to write down the sex of their baby on a piece of paper to be taken to a bakery. It states that television (TV) personalities Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar of the television program "19 Kids & Counting" have made the gender cake popular. It adds that the concoction has quickly had its mainstay in gender-reveal parties and baby showers.
