ABSTRACT
The article discusses the causes of hydrocephalus, its treatment technologies and collaboration between the discoverers and Roald Dahl in invention of the therapy. The cerebrospinal fluid defect was primarily treated with ventriculoperitoneal shunts and the alternative Wade-Dahl-Till (WDT) valve, was designed afterwards. Though successful at that time the WDT valve also had its share of mechanical failures and more research and development introduced modern shunt valves.
