ABSTRACT
The article discusses the Water Temple of Inca-Caranqui, a large pool constructed during the 15th century by the Inca in Ecuador. The structure, a feat of hydraulic engineering, is believed to have been constructed by the Inca rulers Huayna Capac and Atahualpa following their conquest of the Caranqui people. Comments by Tamara Bray and José Echeverría, who have been studying the site, are presented.
