ABSTRACT
It seems that religious knowledge today does not go far beyond knowing Adam & Eve. Reasons are not hard to locate. The influence of nuns, historically the great teachers of doctrine, has diminished. Their places have been taken by lay-people whose expertise is in fields other than religion. Even the Catholic college does not carry the same guarantees of a specifically religious education that it did 15 or 20 years ago. Solutions and a hopeful future are found in this article.
