In this article the author comments on his deceased wife Carol, mentioning the various events and milestones that she has missed since her death. The author discusses how her death has impacted his views on dying, comments on interpretation of death in the poems "Proverb," by Kenneth Koch, and "Conch," by E.B. White, and discusses his visits of her gravesite at Brooklin Cemetery in Maine.
