ABSTRACT
The article discusses the cuff-leak test (CLT) which was performed immediately only in patients with multiple risk factors to control false positive test that detects laryngeal edema. Post-extubation stridor is a relatively rare but frequently life-threatening event. It, however, comments that the specific amount and the delivery technique of applied airway pressure were arbitrary and that the CLT should be employed only to those patients suffering from significant or multiple risk factors.
