ABSTRACT
The article mentions a study conducted by S.B. Doemberg and colleagues, which revealed that the additional treatment with doxycycline to patients receiving ceftriaxone was associated with lower risk of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI). It comments that the mechanisms to explain the linkage between receiving doxycycline and the possibility of a lower risk of CDI need to be addressed further.
