ABSTRACT
The article explains the need of the U.S. military to adopt a different security architecture in the 21st century. It attributes the situation to direct attack, subversion or insurgency facing U.S. allies. It asserts the adoption of a strategy built on sustained global engagement and forward presence. In addition, the article discusses the problems of the military's security architecture, including military dominance that drives policy toward military solutions.
