The article focuses on the significance of having mass notification systems in improving fire panel capabilities. Ted Milburn of the Cooper Notification Inc. says that the system was an addendum to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 72 codes. It cites several features of a notification system to consider such as emails, computer screen pop-ups and visual alerts. It explains the role of fire alarm panels in meeting some requirements of the systems.
